Math – Students continued to work on percents.  Tonight’s homework is a worksheet, #1-15.

Language Arts – Students worked in centers: wrote the final copy of their Haiku, continued to work on their Thanksgiving letter, worked on expanding sentences in their grammar workbook, and worked on comparing and contrasting in the Workout workbook.

AR reports are due December 11.

Math – Students continued to work on percents.  Tonight’s homework is in the workbook, section 5-4.  Remember to show all work!  There is a quiz over percents tomorrow.

Language Arts – Students worked on letter writing, poetry, the functions of sentences, and text features.

Math – Students worked on rates and ratios.  Tonight’s homework is a worksheet and page 158, #10-23.  Students were given time to work on this assignment during class. Remember to show all steps and work.

There is a Brainchild activity that is due Oct. 30.  Go to Brainchild.com and complete the Pythagorean Theorem review assignment.  Turn in all work done to complete the assignment; there is nothing to print out.

Language Arts – Students listened to and discussed Chapter 9 of The Outsiders.

Math – Students began working on rates and ratios.  EarlyBird was collected.  Tonight’s homework is in the workbook, section 4-1.  Label all ratios/rates.

Language Arts - Students completed vocabulary activities.  Fifth period did not meet as there was a pep rally.  There is no homework.

Math – Students took the TCAP pretest on Brainchild and also worked on a game using ratios.  There is no homework.  Students can visit the Brainchild website and practice their skills: www.brainchild.com They were given their username and passcode.

Language Arts – The co-teaching classes did not meet today as students were taking the EXPLORE test, which is a pre-ACT test.  There is no homework.

Math – Students took the chapter 3 test.  Tonight’s homework is a cumulative review sheet.  All work and steps must be shown.

Language Arts – Students took the test on prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections.  It was an open book test.

Math – Students worked on finding distance on the coordinate plane.  Tonight’s homework is workbook section 3-6 and textbook page 144, #10-21.  You will need graph paper for the textbook problems.

Math – Students took quiz on the Pythagorean theorem.  Tonight’s homework is in the workbook, section 3-5, and in the book, page 139, #8-13.  Be sure to draw the pictures from the textbook.

Language Arts – Students worked in centers: students listened to chapter 8 of The Outsiders, completed section 1C and 1D in Wordly Wise, worked on conjunctions and interjections, grammar workbook pages 43-46 (homework is pages 47-48 in the workbook), and students also worked on analogies.

Co-teaching Math and Language Arts

Math – Students completed a warm-up activity and practiced math skills on the laptops.  There is a quiz tomorrow on the Pythagorean theorem.  Check Mrs. Davis’ website for extra credit! There is no written homework.

Language Arts – Students worked in centers today; they began listening to chapter 8 of The Outsiders, worked in their grammar workbooks and homework was assigned, analogies were completed, and students began working on vocabulary in Wordly Wise.
